What is Dash for Dignity?

The Dash for Dignity is an event for the whole family which includes a 5k run, 1 mile family walk, kids dashes, breakfast buffet, music, cotton candy, inflatables, face painting and more! It is geared towards raising funds to provide warm and dignified clothing to struggling families in Israel.

Where will the Dash for Dignity take place?

It will be held at the Overpeck County Park, a beautiful 811-acre park in Bergen County, New Jersey. The run will take place in the the Ridgefield Park section along Challenger Road and will wind its way on a walking trail along Overpeck Creek through fields, playgrounds, and huge lawns.

Will there be Running Bibs and Timing?

You bet! You can pick up your personal running bib with timing chip for the 5K (no timing for the 1M or Kids Dash) at the same time as you pick up your t-shirt on event morning.

What do I do once I finish the run?

Upon completing your Dash, enjoy our refreshments and activities and stick around for our 5K awards ceremony at 11:40 a.m. Finish times and results can be viewed on the Runsignup platform.

Is there a place at the site where I can keep my personal belongings:

Our volunteers cannot watch your belongings while you run or walk. Please return any unneeded items to your vehicle or only bring what you are comfortable holding.

I have never run a race. Will I be able to finish the 5K?

It might take a little training and coaching, but many of our participants are first-timer runners. So give it a try. Register and download our free Dash for Dignity 5k training plan from Coach Atara of Tribe Health and Fitness Coaching.

Can I come just to show my support?

Of course! All strollers are welcome. Come and join our family fun activities or cheer on your family and friends.

Where should I park on Race Day?

Enter Overpeck County Park Amphitheater into your navigation app. Once you arrive, look for event parking signs for the main parking area which directly adjoins the amphitheater. This is a large parking lot with 3 entrances. It will be easy to locate regardless of which way you enter the park. Please arrive early to allow time for registration.

For the start of the 5K, from approximately 10:20 a.m. through 11:00 a.m., there will be intermittent street closings in consideration of runner safety. Please arrive early to ensure you can start your 5K at 10:30, Kids Dash at 10:45, or 1 Mile at 11:10 a.m.

What time should I arrive at the Dash?

Registration starts at 9 a.m., warm up and stretching exercises at 10:00 a.m., and the 5K run officially starts at 10:30 a.m. Come early so you will have enough time to prepare and not get left behind! For the start of the 5K, from approximately 10:20 a.m. through 11:00 a.m., there will be intermittent street closings in consideration of runner safety. Please arrive early to ensure you can start your 5K at 10:30, Kids Dash at 10:45, or 1 Mile at 11:10 a.m.

Running a race can make you really hungry. Will there be any food available?

You bet! We will be providing the best breakfast you have ever seen. All participants in any one of the day’s activities are invited to join us for the famous Dash for Dignity Breakfast.

Is there a refund/exchange policy?

Yes. If a donation was made accidentally or for the wrong amount, simply make us aware of the issue, and we will be happy to make any necessary refunds, changes, or corrections. The race is on rain or shine. Registration fees are not refundable. If your plans change, we can convert your in-person registration to a virtual registration.

Can I sign up on Race Day for Dash for Dignity?

You sure can! We will have an area dedicated to accepting new registrations for the 5K, 1M, and Kids Dash. Please fill out a paper form and bring it with payment to the designated tent. We prefer cash or check to Yad Leah please. Same Day registrations are accepted starting at 9 a.m.
